A Bright and Beautiful New Year to You

A Bright and Beautiful New Year to You

As we turn the page to 2025, it’s easy to feel the pull of New Year’s resolutions. That annual promise to “fix” ourselves or finally tackle a lingering goal. But let’s be honest—how often do those resolutions truly stick?

Here’s why: resolutions often focus on what we do without addressing who we are. They’re rooted in behavior, not identity. It’s like trying to build a house without a solid foundation—it might look good for a moment, but it can’t hold up over time.

Real, lasting change doesn’t come from a to-do list. It starts with aligning your actions to who you are becoming. When you’re clear on who that is, your choices naturally shift to support the life you’re creating.

This is why I prefer intentions. Intentions aren’t about perfection or pressure. They’re about imagining a future that feels exciting and meaningful and deciding to show up as the person who can create it. When you live with intention, change becomes organic—a reflection of your growth, not a box to check off.

So, as you think about this new year, I invite you to set aside the pressure of resolutions and instead ask yourself: Who am I ready to become? When you lead with that question, you’ll be amazed at how life begins to open up in ways you never expected.

If you’re ready to explore what’s possible for you in 2025, I’d love to support you. Let’s connect, dream big, and set the kind of intentions that make this year your best one yet.

Love and Light,
Michèle Heffron

1000 Days

1000 Days

Have you ever considered just how much things change in your life over the course of time? Bit by bit, day by day, we become different people—that is if we choose to.

A thousand days ago, one of my mentor/coaches presented me with the 1000-day challenge.

What exactly is a 1000-day challenge?

Essentially, you create a vision of the life you desire unhindered by your own self-limiting beliefs. Some of the things you might say to yourself:

In 1000 days…

  • Do I love who I’m being to myself and to others?
  • How do I desire to show up?
  • Do I love what I am doing and who I’m doing it with?
  • Where do I live and with whom?
  • What do my relationships feel and look like?

When I agreed to this challenge, the very notion of creating a vision of what I wanted seemed nearly impossible.

I was working as the Executive Director of a National Nonprofit in what I once imagined to be my dream job, but I was beginning to see how misaligned I was in that role. My father had recently died; and before there was time to grieve one loss, my mother was showing signs of a serious illness that ultimately took her life. I was in a relationship that, while fun and comfortable, didn’t seem to be going anywhere.

From the outside though, my life looked pretty good. I was in relatively good health, lived in a beautiful downtown high-rise, I had lots of friends, a loving companion—my goldendoodle, Izzy—and the ability and freedom to travel frequently to places I loved.

In my heart, however, I felt lost and a little alone. I knew I was meant for so much more.

While I felt a little unworthy about receiving more from life, I managed to eek out a vague narrative of my vision which included my career, my purpose, my income, my relationships, and more.

Day by day, the days have clicked by, and I’ve undergone much of the transformation I set out to experience. Not everything has come to fruition in the way I thought it would; mostly due to my small thinking and getting in my own way, but that’s another story.

As I wrap up 2024, my 1000 days has also come to an end. The amazing thing for me is that over the course of a 1000 days, my life is completely different then it was when I started and I now know how powerful my thoughts and intentions can be, if only I allow myself to dream big and believe.

I’m excited to start my next 1000-day challenge on January 1, 2025, and this time, I’m going really big!

I’d like to personally invite you to join me on this journey of a 1000 days and if you could use some extra support along the way, schedule your free consultation with me today and together we’ll explore what’s possible for you!

Reflect & Release

As the year winds down, take a moment to reflect—what went well? What didn’t go so well? What have I been holding onto that is no longer serving me and my greatest good? What am I ready to let go of before I step into 2025? On a clean sheet of paper, write down anything that’s come to mind, noting anything that elicits a negative emotion within. After reviewing what you’ve written. Now, tear it up or burn it safely. This simple act can help you clear the way for new beginnings. Selfcare is all about new beginnings! Happy New Year!

Holiday Candlelight

Whether you’re a fan of The Holidays or not, this is a perfect time of year to give yourself as much TLC as possible. Emotions can run high as stresses of family, year end festivities or deadlines flood your space. Steel away and light a holiday-scented candle—think cinnamon, pine, or vanilla—and spend a few moments enjoying the quietness of the glow and the scent. Let it fill you with warmth and comfort, creating a cozy atmosphere in your home and your heart.

Letting Go of Old Traditions and Embracing New Ones

Letting Go of Old Traditions and Embracing New Ones

The holidays can be a complicated time, especially when life as you know it has been turned upside down. Whether you’re going through a divorce, grieving a loss, or simply facing a big change, the traditions that once felt like comfort can suddenly feel like reminders of what’s missing. And it hurts. The urge to recreate what used to be can be overwhelming, even as it feels impossible.

But here’s what I’ve learned: sometimes letting go of those old traditions can be exactly what your heart needs to start healing. When we loosen our grip on the way things should be, we create space for something new—something that might surprise us with its simplicity and joy.

Years ago, in a moment that could have felt like defeat, I made a choice to do things differently. Instead of trying to force the holiday into something it no longer was, my family and I gave ourselves permission to start fresh. What that looked like was slower, quieter, and far less complicated. There was no pressure to perform or perfect. And in that tiny space of “let’s just do what feels good,”we found warmth, connection, and even laughter.

If you’re staring at this holiday season wondering how you’ll make it through, here’s what I want you to know: you don’t have to carry everything forward. You don’t have to decorate the same, host the same gatherings, or keep traditions that feel heavy when your heart feels raw. You get to choose. Maybe you’ll find joy in creating homemade gifts. Maybe you’ll spend the day in pajamas, watching movies and eating comfort food. Maybe you’ll travel somewhere new or decide that this year, simple is enough.

There is so much freedom in giving yourself permission to do it differently. To step away from the shoulds and ask yourself, What do I actually want?” The answers might surprise you. And over time, as you adjust to your new rhythm, you may find yourself looking forward to these little traditions you’ve created out of love, rather than obligation.

The holidays are not about recreating perfection. They’re about finding moments of connection—whether with yourself, your family, or the quiet peace of the day itself. Let this be the year you allow your heart to rest. Let this be the year you embrace what feels true and good for you now.

And remember this: it’s okay to let go. Sometimes, in the letting go, we stumble into something even better. Something that feels lighter, easier, and just right for this new chapter of life.

Love and Light,

Michele
